It is traditional on this day to eat pancakes here in UK. This tradition though is different at different countries and cultures. In Poland, for example, people eat mainly doughnuts. In other eastern countries plain pancakes with just eggs, milk and flour are most popular.

In England, a great pancake race takes place on Pancake Day each year in London on Tower Hill Terrace. This is a great fun event and is mirrored in thousands of smaller pancake races around the globe.

This year we have decided to celebrate the pancake Day with our families at the Tree House Children Centre, Saturday Club in Harlow. We will be preparing pancakes, cupcakes, doughnuts and many more sweets. Children will have fun whilst decorating pancakes and then sharing and eating them during the lunch time. They will learn more about this tradition here in UK and other parts of the world.

Please join us in this event and bring your pancakes to share, it will be great fun!!
